Updated Information on Sturgis 2010
Friday, 21 September 2007

First of all, I wanted to thank Greg Danielson and Christy Ballard for their wonderful hospitality.  They let my husband, Bruce and I stay at their place on a short notice, and they nevertheless made sure we were very comfortable in their home.  They were also such a big help giving information and tips about Sturgis.    We really appreciate their help very much.  Kudos to them!!!

I am very pleased to tell you that I have found us a campground. It will be at Elkview Campground, about 5 miles to Sturgis with an easy on/off access to I-90. The best thing about this campground is that we will NOT have to go through the town of Sturgis to get to the campground like we did back in 2005. I'm sure most of you remember the hell we had to endure going through Sturgis.

The campground has:

        * 80 Full RV hook ups
        * 22 Electric hookups
        * Flat, grassy & shady creek bottom areas for tents and campers
        * Bus shuttle to Sturgis every 30 minutes
        * Happy hour everyday 5-7 PM
        * Bands playing nightly
        * Free WiFi (wireless internet connection)
        * And many more amenities

Although the campground is on a "first come, first serve" basis, it seems like the owners are very willing to work with us. They say it is very important for those who have RVs to make reservations as soon as they open up for the 2010 season, right after the Sturgis 2009 bike week.  Prices for 2010 will be available then. You might want to look into their website at www.elkviewcampground.com for more detailed information.

We might even be able to have our own "common" area (you know like in ASL, you sign with your thumb tapping on the middle of your palm). I am looking into getting a big tent with lights and working on getting sponsors for this event.

Now that we have a campground, planning will come much easier.  I would need to your help to make this a very successful and memorable event.

We will need committees for:

        *  Entertainment
        *  Public Relations
        *  Security
        *  Games
        *  Road tours
        *  Sponsors
        *  ?????

If anyone of you are interested to be on the committee, contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Any suggestions or feedback, smart or stupid, will be warmly accepted.

Note:

Bear with me...

I am still struggling with the creation of  this website but I'm not giving up.  I defintely will fill you in with more information as they come.  If you see  errors or anything that is messed up, you know why.     Undecided

Good News!!!

As you may have read, I decided to go to Sturgis last August during the Sturgis bike week to find us a  campground.

You might want to click on Sturgis 2010 for further information...

Now that I have found a campground, I would need to set up a committee to work with me.  If you are interested in being on the committee, contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Welcome Back to the DBA website
Thursday, 02 August 2007

Welcome back...

 I apologize for taking so long to update this website.  I know many of you are wondering what's going on with me, why I have not done anything.

 First of all, I'm sure you've read in my previous message that I am taking an online course to learn how to design websites.  For the final grade, we have to create a website.  Meanwhile, I am using this ugly website temporarily so that I'd be able to have the bikers sign up and also, to spread the word there is a free Deaf Bikers of America website for sign ups.  So, please bear with me for the time being.

Check back after the Sturgis week (August 6 - 11).  I will be there checking on potiential camp sites for the 2010 rally.

 I am saddened to tell you two of our brothers have departed us on their bikes recently, Ken McCarty, Leroy McCarty's brother, in a weird similar,  uncanny and  eerie way, and Ralph Sedano on a Baja California bike trip in Mexico.  I have added a "Tributes" section to the website.  I am working on putting up a story about each of them under the "Tributes" category.  If you have a story about those departed bikers, feel free to send them to me.
